The Movistar Madrid Half Marathon announces the date for the 2027 edition and opens its registration period this Monday

After celebrating its 25th anniversary with a record number of participants, the Madrid race is already working to raise its own bar next season

With barely any time to digest the success of its 25th anniversary, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon opens the registration period for its 2027 edition, scheduled for April 4. It will do so this Monday at 12:00 noon with a quota of 30,000 bibs. If it sells out again, as has been usual in recent years, the event would reach a new participation record next season. In fact, the edition held last March 22 had 28,000 registered runners.

Established on the calendar as one of the most important 21.097‑kilometer races internationally, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon looks younger than ever. Its statistics prove it, with the highest number of runners in its history in the 20 to 35 age range. In addition, the percentage of women now exceeds 30%, a figure that grows each year.

The international profile of the event was also strengthened during this ‘Silver Anniversary’ edition, already reaching 36% foreign participation, with France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, and Portugal as the countries with the strongest presence. The course offered by the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon, more central and monumental than ever, has become one of the race’s biggest attractions. A circular route with its epicenter on Paseo de Recoletos, next to Plaza de Colón, and passing landmarks such as Santiago Bernabeu, Plaza de Castilla, Gran Vía, Montera Street, Puerta del Sol, Carrera de San Jerónimo, the Congress of Deputies, Neptuno, and the Palacio de Cibeles.

Thus, all runners interested in securing their spot for the twenty‑sixth edition can do so starting today. In addition, the organizers, led by Agrupación Deportiva Marathon, SportLife Ibérica, and Atresmedia Eventos, have launched a special price for the first 2,000 bibs at just €35. From that point on, the price will increase according to the tiers set out in the regulations. The forecast is that, despite the increased quota for next year, bibs will sell out several weeks before race day.

Certified with the ‘Silver Label’ by World Athletics, the world’s leading athletics governing body, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon continues to grow both quantitatively and qualitatively. Furthermore, its charitable focus and its commitment to young athletes through the kids’ races organized in the Telefónica District strengthen its dedication to a responsible and sustainable future.
