Madrid 5K opens registration and releases 3,000 race bibs

Madrid 5K officially announces today the opening of registration for its next edition, which will take place on April 4, 2027 as part of the prestigious Movistar Madrid Half Marathon. For this edition, a total of 3,000 race bibs have been made available to runners.

The registration fee will cost €12 until November 30. In the second tier (from December 1 to January 31, 2027) the price will be €15, while in the third tier (from February 1 to 28, 2027) it will be €18. Finally, and only if spots are still available, a race bib may be purchased at the runners expo for a price of €25.

The Madrid 5K course will once again have its start and finish line on Paseo de Recoletos, next to Plaza de Colón, and will get underway at 8:45 a.m. at the same time as the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon. Along the course, participants will be able to enjoy the main streets of the city center, as well as many of its most famous buildings and iconic landmarks of the capital.

Thus, after starting from Paseo de Recoletos (next to the wax museum), runners will head up Génova to the Alonso Martínez roundabout to connect with Sagasta street up to the Bilbao roundabout. After leaving Carranza street and San Bernardo street behind, runners will reach Gran Vía, one of the most anticipated moments. Before kilometer 3, the course turns onto Montera street to arrive at Puerta del Sol. After passing beneath Madrid’s iconic clock, runners will go up Carrera de San Jerónimo until reaching Neptuno (km 4) and tackle the final stretch along Paseo del Prado enjoying the Cibeles fountain.

An attractive and scenic course that each participant can enjoy in their own way. The 5-kilometer distance allows many athletes to take part in the event in a more recreational way, while the more competitive runners can push themselves to the limit in a distance that allows for fast pacing from start to finish.

Meanwhile, the Movistar Madrid Half Marathon continues filling its spots for the twenty-sixth edition. Nearly 17,000 runners already have their race bib reserved for April 4. The maximum capacity for this distance is 30,000 entries.
